    Reporting to the President/COO.
    The PR SVP has grand autonomy and level of responsibility and his/her tasks will include but not limited to:
  • Build communications area and lead Corporate PR activities and communications strategy in close coordination with Corporate Senior Management.
  • Coordinate with local country PR Directors, consistent communications strategy for the organization, reflecting Corporate Vision, Values and Business strategy as applied and required for the specific local markets.
  • Develop and implement external communications strategies targeted to general media, partners, government and other critical audiences, both in the United States and in Latin America.
  • Assist Corporate Senior Management in the preparation of the company for IPO's processes within the next 24 months.
  • Develop and implement internal corporate communications plan, ensuring one voice and message for external and internal audiences.
  • Oversee corporate and local implementation of internet and intranet content, including social media, videos, websites, news releases and executive speeches in close cooperation and coordination with local marketing strategies under the President/COO and the Executive team leadership.
  • Establish a clear, consistent image for the organization and the network entities through the development of purposeful media/public relations initiatives and other communications activities.
  • Advise/interface with senior management team concerning all communications matters.
  • Build solid and ongoing relationships with stakeholders, including members of the press, representatives of the government, academic institutions, etc. in order to pitch stories to publications and monitor media coverage and identify key messages and communicate them to stakeholders.
  • Introduce communication and Public Relations crisis management plan for Corporate and all Network Entities.
  Requirements:
 
  • A mature public relations/journalism respected executive with minimum 10 years of professional experience preferably working for a large size multinational company or PR agency in the United States AND in Latin America.
  • Solid internal and external communications, experience working with multinational environments and fluent English and Spanish is fundamental. Portuguese would be a plus
  • Internet savvy, with experience with companies IPO preparation processes., as well as high capacity of interaction with different cultures and multidisciplinary departments, articulation and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate the specifics of the Latin America operating environment back to corporate headquarters, and able to tailor PR practices within appropriate guidelines to obtain and sustain business results.
  • Mature, assertive, open minded, team and service oriented, and possessing outstanding negotiation and communication skills to carry through concepts and get things moving.
  • Strong soft skills, including communications, managing relationships, cross-cultural understanding and integration skills, and strong influencing skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high energy level, and the ability to act and make collaborative decisions.
  • Solid problem solving and business acumen.
  • Ability to work alone on a variety of projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with all levels of an organization.
  • Extensive travel is required, up to 80%.
  • Ability to work across multiple Latin American countries and cultures, showing sensitivity and savvy in dealing with cultural, economic, and political differences.
  • Familiarity with Higher Education environments in the U.S. and/or Latin America would be preferable.
