    This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and will be primarily responsible for developing movement, storage, and distribution strategies for the Client Companys raw materials and finished products throughout the Americas. In addition, this individual will assist with the development of logistics policies, guidelines, procedures, and practices to ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded and costs are controlled.
  • With the guidance of the VP of Operations, develops, implements, and designs logistics plans that affect the production, distribution, and inventory of finished goods in order to enhance product flow.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the logistics field and as they apply to scheduling and movement of raw materials and finished goods between vendors, contractors, and customers (the value chain).
  • Completes assigned tasks and keeps the VP of Operations abreast of all issues, concerns,and problems.
  • Creates periodic reports, performs fact-based analysis of generated data, and identifies improvement opportunities internally and externally. Monitors performance of vendors and holds them accountable to established key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory, and analyzes requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates.
  • Interfaces with other operations departments as well as the finance, sales, marketing, purchasing, and human resources departments to ensure the highest possible level of customer service and value chain effectiveness.
  • Learn all aspects of SAP that even remotely impact the logistics department.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline required.
  • 5-10 years experience in logistics analysis with a demonstrated progression of increased responsibility. Bulk Liquid Transport experience required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present at all levels within the Corporation as well as external customers.
  • Advanced computer skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook software. Familiarity with SAP preferred.
  • Highly organized individual with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the business, its processes and functions, and integrate smoothly in to the culture.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours and travel as necessary to support programs and company initiatives.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a passport and visas if required.
