  • Develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services for worldwide staff (shoreside and shipboard) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and/or peer departmental managers.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Drive and implement staffing strategies, processes, and evaluate results for all recruitment activities incorporating search, preemployment screenings, induction training, new-hire mentoring, on-going employee feedback and mentoring, performance appraisals and people development, succession planning, process improvements and organizational direction.
  • Benchmark and implement best practices that help set standards and enable recruiting to drive high quality staffing process, prove it's worth and make a difference in providing for stable and high retention rates.
  • Anticipates internal and external trends that affect the recruiting process, and creates and implements strategies that address and forecast changing needs.
  • Shapes long-term vision and demonstrate ability to maintain, reevaluate or change strategic course to ensure staffing strategies and tactics align with business needs and company goals.
  • Partners with Senior Management to develop, lead, implement and manage large scale company-wide staffing and training initiatives.
  Requirements:
 
  • Five to eight years related experience experience. Cruise ship or similar experience preferred.
  • EDUCATION Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - DESIRABLE BUT NOT REQUIRED Certified Senior Human resources Professional - SHRM HR Certification Institute Professional affiliations: Applicable (local or nationwide) Human Resources Associations
  • TRAVEL The position requires ability to travel to, visit and perform duties aboard passenger ships in US and foreign ports. Additionally, the incumbent in this position is expected to travel to foreign countries to perform parts of the duties.
  • OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Verifiable computer literacy and expertise in Windows Operating System and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Proficient in Internet and e-mail.
