  • Provides leadership and direction in all areas of a risk assessment, regulatory compliance and safety programming including strategic planning on all shipbuilding, revitalization, and multiple stand alone projects related to the marine industry.
  • Works closely with Newbuilding and Design team to evaluate project plans and associated approaches and time lines on various projects included but not limited to those projects above.
  • Works closely with service providers to evaluate the reasonableness of project plans, facilities, and labor to ensure that all projects can be complete within the time frame and associated budget.
  • Evaluates service providers facilities as well as dry-docks, and subsequent layouts to ensure that they are safe and suitable for the project plan and work to be competed.
  • Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement in the various disciplines.
  • Plans and develops strategies for a comprehensive risk management program that includes appropriate performance records of all risk management programs.
  • Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Advises Newbuilding and Fleet Design on appropriate risk management policies, procedures, and issues of safety.
  • Keeps abreast of pending regulatory developments through reference sources; obtains insight on legislative agendas at state and federal levels as well as flag state requirements.
  • MBA Preferably.
  • 7-10 years of technical experience assessing risk.
  • Experience within ship Building/Coast Guard/ Nuclear Power Plant preferable.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel on average 25-35% of the time.
