  Develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:
  • Develop and administer an effective recruitment program.
  • Prepare, recommend and maintain records/procedures for controlling human resources transactions and reporting human resources data.
  • Directly interact with legal counsel on potential harassment, discrimination and termination issues.
  • Ensure line managers are properly equipped with the needed skills to implement and maintain sound employee/employer relationships.
  • Designs human resources forms and direct the maintenance of human resources records by all departments.
  • Responsible for developing training curriculum. Design, delivery, and administer programs and measure the results of curriculum.
  • Proposes, publishes, and administers human resources policies.
  • Conducts wage and salary surveys.
  • Negotiates and manage a competitive benefits program.
  • Monitors unemployment claims and manages appeal process.
  • Manages and monitors performance appraisal programs.
  • Monitors workers' compensation claims and work between employee and insurance carrier.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 3 employees in Human Resources. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  Requirements:
 
  • Eight (8) years' managerial and supervisory experience in public or private human resources management.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources management or directly¬† relevant degree.
  • Ability to speak fluent Spanish, Creole a plus
  • SHRM Certified Senior Professional (SPHR) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource & Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.¬† Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, ratios and volume.¬† Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
