    This position is based in a very desirable city in Central America.
    Responsibilities: This individual will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and policy guidance to the accounting, financial, and information technology functions of the Region. He/she will be responsible for the management of 30+ employees in these functions of the regional headquarters and oversight of all finance staff within the region.
    The successful candidate will play a key part in the company's management team and as such, this individual will be expected to contribute fully in the formulation, development and implementation of the company's strategic direction. He/she will also lead or participate significantly in several principal activities, which include the following:
    Position Specification:
  • Contribute to the development of the company's budgetary and strategic goals, through the management of the budgeting process, and the completion of financial analyses of company performance against budget and forecast.
  • Co-management of the strategic planning process with the President of the Region.
  • Management of the quarterly forecasting process.
  • Ensure that the financial information necessary for use by the company management and directors is prepared to a consistently high standard. This is to be achieved by the management and preparation of this information, and adherence to company and regulatory policies, procedures and standards and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Management of the Regions assets and liabilities to ensure effective control over resources and ensure that there are adequate reserves for risks/exposures.
  • Management of costs and expenses to ensure spending is controlled and overall costs are maintained at levels which achieve business profitability goals.
  • Ensure that transfer pricing and intercompany transactions are maintained in accordance with agreed upon company procedures and consistent with company approved practices.
  • Ensure that the company has adequate cash on hand to finance its operations through short and long range forecasting of cash flow requirements.
  • Ensure that the company's reporting requirements are complied with. This includes ensuring that all monthly, quarterly, six-month and full year reports are prepared on time and in accordance with the appropriate specifications for both the region and corporate office.
  • Ensure that excellent relationships are maintained with the company's bankers (working in partnership with the treasury department).
  • Ensure that all local taxation regulations and company legal requirements are met.
  • Operate as both a leader and team player in support of the company's vision, goals and objectives.
  • An undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting and U.S. CPA is required. An MBA in finance is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Proven track record of accomplishment and results oriented management in an organization highly regarded in finance and operations.
  • Strong planning, budgeting, accounting and operational skills as well as experience in cost and inventory control issues.
  • Experience in a branded, fast moving consumer products environment is preferred.
  • Experience working closely with the operations function, ideally having spent time in a plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of the laws and regulations that apply to companies in the United States and in the Region, including taxation.
  • Multinational experience is a requirement.
  • Although not required, experience working outside the finance function, possibly in sales, marketing or operations role, is preferred.
